Really late ovulation, Advice please?

My husband and I have been TTC for 28 months. Not faithfully though as we are both active duty military. This is the first month my cycle has been extremely weird. I normally have a 31-33 day cycle. Today is day 33 and I had some cramping, but no period. Took an HPT and it said negative. Decided what the hell, took a digital OPK and it came back with a smiley face meaning I am JUST now ovulating. I have never had a cycle as long as this one. This is the first month I gave up watching every symptom and said if it happens, it happens. Is late ovulation normal every now and then? Should I just count myself out for this month? Hubby and I have been BDing all week pretty much thinking I was done ovulating (so we have been doing it every day. not every other day... again not knowing) So, timing is perfect, but I'm at a loss as to why my cycle would be so long. I'm under no stress (ie love my job and my home life) I just don't get it... please help!
