Is it Margaret Mead's fault she recorded the wrong information about Samoan female sexuality?

I finished reading "The Trashing of Margaret Mead". It was recommended by one of my Anthropology Professors. My question is, should Margaret Mead be held accountable for the wrong information she received, if so, why? I am just curious because I am a Anthropology student and I have been a fan of Mead and have always hated Freeman but after reading this book I am just confused. Thanks!
