Has anybody else ever heard of GumBees?

Does anyone know what gum bees are actually called? Noone outside of Royston, Hertordshire has heard of them but they're an epidemic there. They're these bees that follow you around and try and stick in your hair where they lay eggs....I know it sounds far fetched but anyone know anything about them?
